I can’t imagine makeup without defined eyebrows. Even if what I do with them is very subtle, they still play an important role – like icing on the cake! They’re not only the proverbial “face frame”. They’re also capable of adding expression and shaving a few years off your appearance. Which product works best? A good brow gel is a key – for me, it’s essential in my makeup bag. I am confident when I say that I know my way around brow gels. I managed to test many of them so it’s time for the ranking of the best brow gels. I present you with my golden five! <3
1. Nanobrow Lamination Gel
For me – the best! Nanobrow Lamination Gel is the first product I got my hands on that delivers a laminated brow effect. Because of this product, I have given up on beautician treatments and managed to save some money 🙂 In my view, this brow gel gives the same exact effect as lamination. Its ergonomic spoolie coats every hair evenly and the intense pigments adapt to my natural eyebrow colour. Layer the intensity of the colours easily by adding a few layers of gel. After application, brow hairs become soft and they’re more prone to styling. The Nanobrow gel dries quickly and sets the desired shape. It works incredibly well with other brow makeup products and doesn’t smudge or leave clumps on the skin. It’s the perfect balance between an impressive hold and a natural finish.

The Glossier brow gel sets eyebrows for the whole day. A small amount is enough to apply and spread on the brows. Glossier Boy Brow is a treat for fans of natural makeup and well-composed products. The composition of the Boy Brow gel includes beeswax, Carnauba wax, oleic acid, and lecithin. Because its consistency is a bit like wax, it dries rather fast. The brow gel’s spoolie reaches every hair and coats them with an even coat.
3. Estée Lauder Brow Now
The brow gel by Estée Lauder is exceptionally long-wear and has a full-coverage formula. It’s based on thickening microfibers and will work well in the case of sparse arches. The tiny fibres grab onto some hairs and enhance them optically. The brow gel’s waterproof formula prevents smudging of the colour and keeps hairs in check for many hours to come. Estée Lauder Brow Now is an intensely pigmented brow gel whose finish resembles a bit of henna. The spoolie with a tapered shape makes the application fairly simple and spreads the colour evenly.
4. BeneFit Gimme Brow+
A well-known popular choice – the BeneFit brow gel has found its place in my ranking. No wonder, as it disciplines eyebrows in a flash, coating them with colour and boosting volume. It’s capable of emphasizing eyebrows and camouflage cavities thanks to copolymers that stick to hairs. The cone-shaped applicator allows for an intuitive product application. This brow gel is a transparent and versatile product for any occasion. I use it solo or in combination with other brow products.
How to use a brow gel?
A brow gel is a way for easy and quick makeup that can additionally be set with a pencil or a powder. Shape your hairs correctly and direct your hairs however you want. Apply the brow gel combining it with your favourite product for brow styling.
1) Comb the brow upwards with a spoolie.
2) Fill your arch using a pencil or pomade.
3) Take a brow gel and brush your hairs in the growth direction, focusing on the parts you want to be fuller-looking.
Depending on the expected result, choose a brow gel in your eyebrow colour or a clear version.
