How to choose the best mascara? My proven methods

Lashes, lashes, lashes… we go crazy about them. Which of you are not, be the first to throw a rock ;)… and I am not talking the rock powder, my love.

Eyelashes are the essence of make-up and ensure your face look immediately rested and the look seems profound.

We can manage and we know how to do it. This is why we put so much focus on the choice of mascara. Usually, there is two criterion that matter:

• the commercial (I know that some of you may be probably offended by even suggesting this, but the catchlines and models’ eyelashes impact our imagination);
• the wand – this seems obvious: you have your favourite shape of the wand, so the choice narrows down to whether the wand should be silicon or synthetic. The majority of women chooses the synthetic wand because they simply know it better (and longer). Many of us mistakenly believe that the wand with silicon bristle can clump eyelashes. In the meantime, it is silicon wand that year by year outclasses the synthetic wand. The silicon wand is definitely way more precise and effective, there is no pulling the lashes nor the problem of keeping it clean.

Are the two above points enough to choose the right mascara? Are these even authoritative criterion that can make mascara purchase always easy?

Here are the secrets of good mascara:

1. Packaging – we do not pay much attention to it yet it is extremely important. It happened to me on many occasions that the rubber stopper sticks to the top and stopped fulfilling its (important) purpose. As a result, product in excess amount settle on the wand – it was no use. There was no way that I get “this” anywhere near my eyes. Solid packaging is a base and it gives away the customer care.
2. Wand – yes, here everything remains as it was – it is the most important. It creates the entire make-up. The wrong wand can make even the best formula worthless. The go to wand is the one made of silicon because it is precise and easy to keep clean… I presume that do not have to tell any of you how important it is to clean your mascara wand? 😉 Of course, I advise against purchase of freaky wands that make you wonder about the usage. It is great when the wand gets narrow towards the tip – this will allow you to apply mascara even onto the shortest lashes.
3. Mascara formula – not many of us give it more thought about the ingredients and whether the formula is not overly invasive. In other words, whether the mascara besides spectacular make-up delivers our eyelashes with… something more; something that makes them beautiful and well-taken care of, but also makes them not fall out after just a few months of mascara application.
