Body Oiling. How I Do It & Which Products I Use

Hello, my readers!

Hair oiling has become a rave recently. All hair maniacs recommend it, all beauty blogs write about it, you can find lots of vlogs about the treatment. What about body oiling? Do you know how to do it and which products to use? Check how I oil my skin and how it looks thanks to oils.

What are oils?

Let’s begin with something different. Do you know what oils are? These are solid or fluid substances that do not dissolve in water. They come in three categories: drying, semi-drying and non-drying. Considering their origin and composition, there are mineral, vegetable, animal-derived and synthetic oils. Vegetable oils are most common in skin care. They moisturise and lock in water. Some oils have similar structure to the human body structure. That is why they are perfectly tolerated by the skin and have far better conditioning power.

Refined oil vs unrefined oils

Refined oils are natural oils yet purified with high temperatures or chemicals. During the processing, they obtain a particular taste, aroma and clarity. Unfortunately, the refinement process can cause the occurrence of substances that harm both your skin and the whole system. Unrefined oils are extracted through the presses; the temperature during such a process does not go beyond 70ºC. Next, oils are drained to remove all plant impurities. Unrefined oils have a cloudy consistency, natural taste and scent. Contrary to refined oils, they are rich in vitamins and micro nutrients.

Which oils do I use in skin care?

Oils rich I vitamins A, D, E and B are my favourites: grapeseed oil, almond oil, raspberry oil. I also use moisturising oils e.g. olive oil, sunflower oil, watermelon oil. Obviously, anti-wrinkle, repairing and anti-bacterial oils are essential in my beauty care – argan oil, jojoba oil, macadamia oil, castor oil and tea tree oil.

How do I oil my body?

I do the treatment once a week after a shower, scrub and depilation. I rub a bit of an oil between palms and apply it to legs, arms, belly and chest. I also massage the skin to encourage better absorption of nutrients, increase blood flow and feel relaxed. Thanks to oiling, my skin is elastic, radiant and firm. Using natural oils for skin is amazing! Strongly recommend it!
